“Études en France” procedure


CampusArt is not a substitute for the ‘Etudes en France’ procedure in place in most countries where a visa is required. You can have both: a CampusArt account and an ‘Etudes en France’ account.

Students may choose institutions that are either part of or not part of the ‘Études en France’ scheme, i.e. those not included in the list of institutions listed on ‘Études en France’: These institutions can be found on CampusArt, and we encourage you to use this application platform. The ‘Études en France’ application process is not compulsory for French higher education institutions. It is therefore normal that you will not find all institutions on the ‘Études en France’ list.

Some countries offer procedural concessions under the ‘Etudes en France’ scheme for students who enrol via CampusArt: half-price or free application fees, exemption from or fast-track processing of interviews. This applies to Algeria, China, Côte d’Ivoire, Colombia, Vietnam, Russia … First, complete your CampusArt application, and once the CampusArt team has sent you your admission certificates, you can then proceed directly to the ‘I have been accepted’ stage on Etudes en France: you will be able to upload the certificates sent to you by the CampusArt team to your Etudes en France account.

CampusArt offers students who are already at an advanced level (having completed more than three years of higher education) an additional opportunity to quickly obtain a pre-enrolment certificate from a French institution, which will help you to secure a visa.

Applying via CampusArt is free of charge during the application submission phase and whilst awaiting offers from higher education institutions.

You therefore pay nothing to: create your account; complete your application; submit your application; or receive any offers from institutions.
An application processing fee is only payable if you decide to finalise your enrolment at an institution.

All course coordinators at CampusArt member schools will have access to your application as soon as it has been approved by us.

The “Etudes en France” procedure begins with the creation of a personal electronic application file, a process you can complete at your own pace. An application fee is charged.

The “Etudes en France” mechanism offers prospective students the benefit of guidance and support at every step in the admission process, from application to enrollment. It even allows applicants to apply for their visa online and to track the progress of their electronic application.

Applicants open a personal account on the Web site of the Campus France office in their country of residence. From there they follow a paperless procedure that enables them to submit applications for admission and to dialog with the staff of the Campus France office in their country and with representatives of the institutions from which they hope to receive an offer of admission (whether under the DAP program or not).

For the students concerned, you are entitled to choose from a range of institutions, whether or not they are linked to the ‘Etudes en France’ system – that is to say, those which do not appear in the list of institutions on ‘Etudes en France’: These institutions can be found at CampusArt: we invite you to use this application platform. The ‘Etudes en France’ application process is not compulsory for French higher education institutions. It is therefore normal that you may not find all institutions listed in the ‘Etudes en France’ directory. On CampusArt, you can apply to these institutions.

In around 60 countries, this online procedure must be followed in order to obtain a visa.

In the countries in which the “Études en France” procedure is active, the Campus France local office:

  • provides candidates with information, guidance and the opportunity for dialogue online via a personal messaging service
  • makes it easier to sit language tests
  • receives from the CampusArt team a list of students enrolled at an art or architecture school via CampusArt, along with their pre-enrolment certificates. Please note: any student who has not completed their CampusArt application will not be included on the list sent to the Campus France offices in their country.
  • carries out an administrative review of the candidate’s application and verifies the authenticity of their qualifications
  • arranges an interview regarding the student’s personal project.
